We are a close partner of a global Fortune 500 company that is on an exciting digital transformation journey.

We are building a range of mission critical web and app solutions for this customer. The solutions include multi-tenancy, high data and user volumes, strong backend facilities, advanced integration, high security, consumer grade app/web applications, and much more.

Our customer treats security and data protection very seriously and aims for bank security standards. We look for a skilled software security engineer that will work together with our own development teams as well as our customer’s development teams.

A key part of the work is about understanding enterprise requirements and policies, defining the security architecture for the software being built, and guiding the development teams in how to incorporate security in the solutions being developed.

Your qualifications

Your qualifications

We are predominantly looking for software security engineers that are on senior level or minimum on a strong medio level.

You should have a bachelor or master degree from a technical faculty or be able to demonstrate another relevant background.

As software security engineer you are expected to:

  • Have solid understanding of the latest security principles, methodologies, techniques, and protocols, helping to ensure that security policies are followed (CIA, AAA, Defence in depth, Least privilege, etc)
  • Have 2-5 years experience in a similar role
  • Have broad knowledge about web related technologies (web applications, Web Services) and about network/web related protocols
  • Have good knowledge of Secure Software Development Lifecycle techniques and principles (experience with automated security testing is a plus)
  • Work closely with the development teams ensuring all security requirements are met throughout development phase
  • Ensure and improve security through code-level standards, processes and frameworks for the developers to follow
  • Take part in security related decision-making processes throughout the system development life cycle

Software security engineer’s preferred experiences are to:

  • Have demonstrated experience and exposure in the international security arena dealing with security-related issues
  • Be familiar with programming languages (JavaScript / React / NodeJS)
  • Have proven knowledge and real-world experience of Project Delivery Methodologies such as SCRUM and Agile
  • Be familiar with popular technology stacks for development of cloud native applications (Node.js, React, Python, Postgres DB etc)
  • Have experience with cloud environments and related security, being familiar with security configuration of Azure IaaS/PaaS services (authentication, authorization, encryption transit/rest, hardening) is a plus
  • Be familiar with configuration of container/orchestration security (Docker, Kubernetes, Containerd, …)
  • Be familiar with configuration tools for Static/Dynamic Code Analysis, Software Composition Analysis/Audit (for example SonarCloud, Qualys, Kiuwan, etc)
  • Be familiar with tools for documentation and architecture drawing (Confluence, Draw.io, etc)
  • Be familiar with automation of vulnerability scanning, patch management and continual security testing

Some of the software security engineer’s tasks are:

  • Specifying tasks for development teams based on security requirements originating from standard security policies or from security audits
  • Performing security code reviews, interpretation and remediation of vulnerabilities discovered by penetration or automated testing
  • Performing verification of secure cloud configuration
  • Investigating, implementing and administering tools for (automated) security testing
  • Improvement and documenting the processes for secure software development lifecycle
